Springing Into Science Hop!

April 24, 2014 by Krista 25 Comments

It is time for another Blog Hop for you K-2 teachers!  Several friends and I have joined together to bring you science products that can help you get through the rest of the school year.  Some of the products are FREE and there are also GREAT giveaways!

My FREE product is a flower-shaped flapbook you can use to have kids see the life cycle of a flower.  It includes pictures and words can can be done in as simple as 4 steps or go more in depth with 8 steps.  This allows the product to be used by different grade levels or for different ability levels in the same class.

List of possible read aloud books to go with activity

This example uses 4 steps (words and pictures are NOT in order).  Other variations include 8 steps, pictures only, and pictures and words, with words already in order under the picture.

Includes a finished example
Finished product, cut out

If you are looking for some more science ideas, check out my WILD! Ocean Animals and Plants game.  In fact, you can enter the giveaway below to win your choice of 3 of my WILD games AND have the opportunity for me to make a new one for you!  You give me the skill you want to cover and I will make the game for you!

And, don’t forget about the GREAT deal over at Educents!  You can grab 10 products (designed to get you through what seems like the L  O  N  G  E  S  T  time of the year!) for only $10.99.  It includes one of my WILD games and my Robert Munsch lapbook.

MY favorite end of year activity is when we create our own media/technology/ author study book “If You Give…” series. These always turn out fantastic and the kiddos get to keep/take home something they created and parents LOVE to save.

Field days are always fun and a great way to spend fun time with your students….no academics for a day!

Our butterfly release is always a favorite. We wear life cycle shirts that we painted and set our friends free. It reminds me of the transformation in my students during the year.
